Did you know we currently have 14 Little Legs Retirees in our care?
What is a Little Legs Retiree you may ask?
Little Legs runs a Retiree Program for our most vulnerable animals, because sometimes cats and dogs come into our care who have significant health issues or other challenges that make them unsuitable for rehoming. This may include chronic medical conditions, terminal illnesses, advanced age or sometimes even behavioural issues.
Our Retiree Program ensures that even dogs and cats with conditions that render them unable to be adopted, can still thrive in a loving home for the term of their natural lives. When an animal enters our Retiree Program, they’re placed in a loving permanent foster home and Little Legs covers all of their expenses for their entire lives.
This includes (but is not limited to): • vet consultations and ongoing care • medication • flea/worming treatments • annual vaccinations • food Covering a lifetime of costs for the retirees in our program is an incredibly costly exercise, which is why we’ve established our Sponsor a Retiree program. You can opt to support the program by making a small donation on a regular basis directly to one of our retirees.
To Sponsor a Retiree, simply set up a recurring payment (whatever amount you choose) to be deposited into our bank account or via PayPal with the reference of "SPONSOR (ANIMAL'S NAME)" and your initials. We will then allocate those funds to your nominated retiree. We accept both personal and business sponsors – so your workplace could become a sponsor too!
Along with knowing that you are helping one of our retirees to live their best life, you can also look forward to receiving regular updates and photos about your sponsor animal’s journey through life.
